Winston Thomas Snead 88, of Radford passed away Friday May 9, 2008 at Wheatland Hills. He attended Randolph Macon College before serving in WWII and was a member of Virginia May Masonic Lodge #38 in Radford. He was also a member of the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church for over 40 years He worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers on Dam projects in Southside, VA prior to becoming a Government Inspector at RAAP in Radford in the 1950s. Served on Regional Boards for Pulaski County and Fairlawn Sewer Authority after he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Mary Chris Snead and his parents Francis Chapman and Martha Jane Snead. Survivors include a step-daughter, Mary Louis and Jack Coalson of Beaverton, Oregon; three step-grandchildren Chris and Darlene Coalson, Gig Harbor, WA; Jay and Mary Anne Coalson of Beaverton, Oregon; Lani and Rich Eisenhauer of Beaverton, Oregon; six step-great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sierria, Zachary, Sophia and Chase Coalson and Conner Eisenhauer; sister, Etta Mason Ferguson of Richmond, VA; and several nieces and nephews, special friend Lester Maupin of Fairlawn. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford were Virginia May #38 Masonic Lodge will conduct Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church before the service. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Childrens Home of the Highlands P.O.B. 545 Wytheville, VA 24382. The Snead family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
