Wilmer "Chuck" Swett, 90, formerly of Radford, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purcell and Ruthie Swett; Survivors include a son, Bobby Ray Hunt; 2 grandchildren; his sister, Ellen Locklear of Concord, N.C.; brothers, Lathan Swett of Greensboro, N.C., Bobby Swett of Pembroke, N.C., and Purcell "Jr" Swett of Fairmont, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with Rev. Dr. Paul Lane officiating.
