William S. (Bill) Lindsay, of Dublin, died January 31, at the age of 83, fortified by the rites of the Catholic Church. "Granddad," who had a nickname for everyone, and his wife of almost 55 years are the proud parents of 6 kids and grandparents of 13. He attended VMI, retired from the U.S. Marine Corp, and later graduated cum laude from New River Community College. He was an active member of St. Judes Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Evelyn, and his son, Greg. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his children, Mike (Donna), Joe (Marisol), Ann Marie (Mike), Beth (John) and Susan (David), his grandchildren, William, Joe and Nick, Matt and Luke, Leah and Adam, Abbey, Kathryn, Anna and Greg, and Elizabeth, great granddaughter, Kendall, and sister, Eva Ruben. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Judes Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Father Jarek Nowacki officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to St. Judes Catholic Church, 1740 Tyler Rd., Christiansburg, VA 24073.
