Obituary

William (Willie) Maynard Farmer, 67, of Radford, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was a United States Army veteran. He worked for 38 years at the Lynchburg Foundry and was currently a driver for Radford Transit where Willie had often gone above and beyond to help others in the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Thomas and Gladys Mae Hoover Farmer. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Chad and Mindy Farmer, and Gary Farmer, all of Radford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Mary Farmer of Ky., and John and Hilda Farmer of Dublin; his beloved dog Maddy; and many other relatives and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. Lester Kennedy officiating. V. F. W. Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Radford Humane Society, PO Box 581, Radford, Va. 24143.
