Warren Harding Vicars, 85 of Radford, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Highland Ridge Nursing Home. He was a US Navy veteran and retired from Clover Creamery. He is preceded in death by his parents William P. and Nora Moss Barnett Vicars, brothers Russell Vicars, George Vicars and Arnold Vicars all of Dante. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Roxie Compton Vicars of Radford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Pam Vicars of Tucson, AZ and Radford, Wayne and Vicki Vicars of Greenville, SC, and Warren Harding Vicars, Jr. and his girlfriend, Pam of Radford; two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Marie Vicars and special friend Doug Grantham , and Betty and Jimmy Covey, all of Radford; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a dear devoted friend and caregiver who could bring laughter and smiles to Daddy, Doug Grantham. The family would like to thank all the staff at Highland Ridge for the excellent care and love that they showed our Daddy and thanks to a special nurse, Melissa Broyles, who took genuine care and loved Daddy whole heartedly. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Ersel Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 325 Randolph Avenue, Pulaski, VA.
