Virginia Kenley "PeeWee" Smart, 80, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She retired from AT&T. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oakley Maynard Kenley and Eva Mae Viers Kenley; and her husband, Elwood Charlton Smart. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Mike Smart, and Phillip and Theresa Smart, all of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Troy Hill of Powhatan; grandchildren, Tanner Smart and his wife Samantha of Botetourt, Tye and Luke Hill of Powhatan, and Kelsey Smart and her mother Nancy Smart of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, Buck and Evalena Kenley of Radford and Richard Kenley of Dublin; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rudolph Shelburne officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
