Vickie Jones Lawson, 50, of Fairlawn, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was the assistant manager at Dollar General and previously worked for 25 years as a market manager at Food Lion. She was preceded in death by her mother, Iva Dale Jones Duncan. Survivors include her husband, Darren R. Lawson; father, Ira Hubert Duncan; sister and fianc, Tammy Duncan of Christiansburg and Jay Meriwether of Dublin; step brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Hackworth of Kernersville N.C.; aunts, Dinah Mabry, Sue Bailey, Teresa Brewer, Betty Ritter, Arlene Thompson, and Della (Clarence) Carroll; uncle, Oscar (Betty) Jones; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Daisy Lawson of Christiansburg; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
