Vernon Eugene "Gene" Fizer, 65, of Draper, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Walter and Pearly Irene Harris Fizer. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry. Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Pamela Fizer, Pilot, Mason H. "Button" and Darlene Fizer, Hiwassee, and George "Peanut" and Debbie Fizer, Dublin; mother, Ethel S. Fizer, Radford; special friends Bow Wow, Slim and Betty Flinchum; and close nephew Doug Fizer, nieces Sandy Perdue and Heather Fizer, nephews Mike, Matt, Jason and Steven Fizer. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Bains Chapel Church in Radford with Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
