Verna Scott Nina Hurst Linkous, 92 of Radford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Her life has reflected her love for her Lord and has inspired those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her concern for her family, especially her grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren and friends has been shown through her endless prayers on their behalf. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of Fairview Community Church in Blacksburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, three brothers, two sons, a daughter, three stepsisters, a stepbrother and her husband Curtis Hurst. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Brady, Jr. and Joanne Linkous of Hildebran, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Bob Gibbs of Christiansburg; a step-daughter-in-law, June Hubbard of Dublin; stepsister Elsie Farmer of Pearisburg; 10 grandchildren, Steve Bowman, Barry Bowman, Brad Linkous, David Linkous Wayne Garst, Libby Heinemann, Bobby Lorton, Lillian Edmonds, Rhonda Meadows, and Melissa Lawson; a step granddaughter, Teressa Dowdy; 19 great-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Linkous family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
