Verna Jeanette Proffitt Keen, 61, of Catawba , passed away Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Life Harvest Church in Radford. Survivors include her husband, George P. Keen of Catawba; two daughters, Rita Jenkins and Teresa Kincer, both of Bedford; three sons and daughter- in-law, R. Wayne Keen of Vinton; Roger Keen of Roanoke, and George E. and Mary Ann Keen of Bedford; two brothers, Thomas J. Proffitt of Troutville and Raymond Proffitt of Floyd; two sisters, Verda Reynolds of Richlands and Inis Pruitt of Raven; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Life Harvest Church with Rev. Dallas Vines and Rev. Jim Angle officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the New Life Harvest Church in Radford. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the New Life Harvest Church Building Fund, Box 907, Radford, VA 24141. The family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
