Vera Duncan Brewster, wife of Elwood C. Brewster, dies Monday, December 22, 2014 at her home in Dataw Island, SC. She was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church. Vera's passion was golf, gardening and participating in many charities. Mrs. Brewster was born in Hillsville, VA to the late Jessie Duncan and Beulah Nester Duncan. She was predeceased by sisters Alma Fillion of Danville, and Gloria Dean Barnhill of Shelby, NC. Surviving in addition to her husband, Elwood, are two sons, David Brewster of Johns Island, SC and Keith Brewster of Rockledge, FL, and one sister, Geneva Witt of Fairlawn, VA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Carteret Street United Methodist Church, West St. Fund, 408 Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.
