Obituary

Tilton Amos Maxie, 83, of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He was a retired truck driver and he received a Purple Heart for his service in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Tommy Maxie. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Maxie of Mocksville, N.C., and Andy and Mechelle Maxie of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Daniel Zwahlen of Statesville, N.C.; brother, Jessie Maxie of Dublin; sister, Marie Harrison of Kernersville, N.C.; grandchildren, Duane and Ian Maxie; and great-grandson, Samuel Maxie. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Blouse officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Radford VFW Post #776 or the American Legion Post #58.
