Thomas Draper Sutphin, 87, of Bedford, formerly of Dublin, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Campbell Rest Home. He was one of nine children born to Thomas Grayden and Minnie Pearl Farmer Sutphin. He owned and operated Sutphins Welding in Dublin, Virginia for over 30 years and attended Peaks View Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tommy Lee Sutphin; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Mona and Randy ONeill of Fla., and Wanda and Ronnie McGhee of Bedford; son, Terry Sutphin and Tammie of Newbern; granddaughters, Teri Lloyd and her husband Billy, Niki and her husband Eric, and Stephanie and her husband Jarrod; grandsons, Tommy Lee Sutphin II and Chris Travilion and his wife Amber; two step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cybil and Gwen. Mr. Sutphin was a simple man and per his request, services will be private.
