Thomas William Simpson, 77 of Belspring, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. He was retired with over 30 years of service at Alliant Tech formally Radford Arsenal and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert C. and Zelda Moore Simpson, a son Tommy Simpson, a grandson Brian Simpson, two brothers Robert Simpson Jr. and Milton Simpson. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gertrude Thomas Simpson of Belspring; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Michael Joseph of Dublin; Jackie and Darrell Payne of Dublin; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday October 2, 2006 at Mullins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford with a Military graveside conducted by VFW Post #776. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
