Thelma Mae Albert Simpkins, 75, of Christiansburg, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014. She was a member of Mt. Tabor UMC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Frances Tickle Albert, sister Elizabeth Long, and brothers Robert and Thomas Albert. Survivors include her husband of 44 years Paul D. Simpkins; daughter Carolyn Hinkley of Christiansburg; granddaughters and their spouses Jessica and Justin Dowdy and Ashley and Dylan McDowell; great grandchildren Noah and Lillian Dowdy and Macy and Mackenzie McDowell; and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Louise Albert of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Kenn Farr officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The Simpkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
