Sylvia Miller Medley Lloyd, 79, of Radford, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Irving Lloyd, Jr.; and her parents, Richard and Winifred Miller. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Scott Hill; grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Hill; step-children and their spouses, Dianne and Timothy Clark, and Benjamin and Laura Lloyd; grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Clark, and Caleb and Isaac Lloyd; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Neil Rogers; brother, Kent Miller; special caregivers, Amy Rhodes, Lou Ellen White, Paulette Walling, and Ava Bayne; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, Grandma, sister, friend, teacher, follower of Jesus and child of God. She was a graduate of Radford High School, Radford College and received a Masters of Science Degree in December 1991 from Radford University. She loved teaching and taught thousands of students over her 32-year teaching career before retiring in 1998. She began teaching at Dublin High School, and went on to teach sixth and seventh grade English and Social Studies at McHarg Elementary School and then Dalton Intermediate School. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, reading, and crafting. She brought joy and love to everyone she met. She loved life to its fullest and her glass was always half full. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Central United Methodist Church in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. Flowers will be appreciated or donations can be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O.
