Silas Edward Bain, 64 of Radford, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007. He was a member of New Hope Church of God and retired employee of the Town of Christiansburg. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Diann Wells Bain of Radford; two sons, Silas Matthew Bain and his fianc, Amy Taylor Owens of Radford, and James Randolph Sowers of Christiansburg; a step-granddaughter, Whitney Ramey; two brothers, Roma Lee Bain of Radford and Curtis Bain of Pulaski; two special nieces and their husbands, Linda and Lynn Taylor of Christiansburg and Gayle and Gary King of Vinton; and his faithful companion, Buddy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the New Hope Church of God with Rev. Michael Bond, Rev. James Walker and Rev. Arthur Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. The Bain family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
