Shirley Wheeling Reves, 67, formerly of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at her home in Clifton Forge after a brief battle with cancer. She was a member of the New Dublin Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boomer Reves and siblings, Ocie Evelyn Stoots, James William Hardin Wheeling, Virginia Ruth Meredith, Stella Margaret Oswalt and John Robert Wheeling. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Larry Turner of Clifton Forge, and Donna and Bobby Russell of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Jennifer Rhea Turner, Apryl Maria Turner, Zachariah Boomer Turner, Samantha Carolyn Russell and Reves Alan Russell; four sisters, Helen Elizabeth Childress Roberts of Pulaski, Sarah Francis Perky McCoy of King, NC, Barbara Natalie Stoots of Lynchburg and twin sister, Alma Jean Cochran of Kernersville, NC; and two brothers, Austin Wayne Wheeling of Lynchburg and James Edward Wheeling of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jean Brown and Rev. Tom Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
