Shirley M. Mabry, 67, of Dublin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in her passing by her parents Mossye and John Murdock. She is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law Robert (R.P.) and Carol Wright of Morgan Farm; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bruce Duncan; and brother Stanley Murdock, all of Radford. She is also survived by her loving, and devoted friend, companion and fianc John Weikel of Dublin. She was employed by Inland Motors for 40 years. After her retirement she donated her time doing volunteer work and participating in Poker Runs for different Benefits. She loved camping and traveling but her first love was the care of animals. She will be deeply missed by her beloved paws, Buffy, Jody, Sassy, and Marty. With heartfelt gratitude, the family wishes to thank the staff at New River Valley Medical Center, especially the nursing staff in the Surgical Unit for their care, compassion, and support to both Shirley and the family during this difficult time. God Bless you all. A Time of Visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2010 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Cremation services are being handled by the Cremation Society of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cancer Society of your choice.
