Shirley Ann Dudley Akers, 77, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. Shirley was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Dudley and Ollie Dove Wade Dudley. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Edgar T. "Pug" Akers of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Lisa Akers of Radford; grandson, Corey Akers and his wife India of Lexington; granddaughter, Kalynn Akers of Radford; several nieces and nephews; and special canine companion "Jet". Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Rockford Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
