Shakeem Dangelo James, 19, of Radford, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2016. He was an employee of Walmart and attended Young Life Ministries. Shakeem was born in Radford the son of Homer Oakley James III and Marchelle Lynne Saunders. He was a 2015 graduate of Radford High School where he proudly wore the Bobcat gold and black. He is survived by his mother, Marchelle L. Saunders; father, Homer Oakley James III; sisters, Sheletta Saunders and Melody Burks; brothers, Markeece Saunders, Shaquille Saunders and Darrius Saunders; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Jennifer Saunders, and Kat Saunders; paternal grandparents, Rev. Henry Lindsey and Lynn, and Homer James II; special love, Adiah Coleman; best friends, Jairon Richardson, Marcus Payne, and Taylor Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in New River with Rev. Henry Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
