Samuel Edward McDaniel, 89, of Radford, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012. He was retired from Clover Creamery. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during WWII and a life member of VFW Post #776 Radford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen McDaniel and a son, Robert Hite (Bobby) McDaniel. Survivors include sons Donald (Dee) McDaniel of Radford and Rodney McDaniel of Yorktown; daughter Rhonda M. Charlton of Radford; stepdaughters Deena Harris and Gina Wright, both of Radford; sister, Lois Hamblin of Roanoke; 5 grandchildren Alex Wheeler, Hannah Coble, Mandy Collins Thompson, Andy Collins and Jeanette Lawson; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Brian Cockram officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with full military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the funeral. The McDaniel family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
