Ruth Virginia Doody, 80, of Hiwassee, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She attended Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Luna Ridpath; first husband, Abraham L. Bonds; and grandson, Travis L. Smith. Survivors include her husband, Fred George Doody Sr. of Hiwassee; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Russell Simpkins of Hiwassee, Teresa and Eddie Mills of Radford, Ruth and Chris Smith of Hiwassee, and Connie and Ronald Thompson of Hiwassee; son, Ronald David Bonds of Richmond; stepson, Fred G. Doody Jr. of Fla.; stepdaughter, Marlene of Dublin; sister, Bess Richards of Hiwassee; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and the Bonds family that she shared a very special relationship. The family will receive friends from 9 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 29 2018 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Cecils Chapel Cemetery in Hiwassee.
