Ruth Campbell Aker, 90, of Radford, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012. She was born April 9, 1922 the daughter of the late William and Elmyra Vance Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Hap Aker, daughter, Lana Smith, three grandsons, Ronald L. Smith, and Scott and Jeffrey Aker, son-in-law, Carl Duncan, Sr., and two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Duncan; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Ann Aker, and Mike Aker, all of Radford; son-in-law, Roger Smith of Riner; brother-in-law and his wife, Robert and June Aker of Pulaski; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating. The Aker family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
