Russell Thomas Simpson, Jr., 82, of Radford, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Lynchburg Foundry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Thomas, Sr. and Mary Ritter Simpson; his wife, Diane Dillon Simpson; and his brothers, Bobby and Dickie Simpson. Survivors include his son, Russell Thomas "Trey" Simpson, III and Brandy McCoy; granddaughter, Jade Simpson; sister, Maryann Phillips; sister-in-law, Linda Simpson; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Craig Reed officiating.
