Rudolph (Rudy) K. Edwards, 88, of Radford, went to join his loving wife Edith in Heaven on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church and a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. Rudy was the "town barber" and owned and operated Central Styling Shop in Radford. Rudy had many loves in his life including his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them sing, play, work and excel in most everything. He so loved people and became friends with all he met. He loved to dance to "Mack the Knife", fishing, hunting, gardening and the taste of a good tomato, the Radford Bobcats and VA Tech. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Tommy and granddaughter Lisa Lynn Edwards. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kenny and Linda Edwards, and Connie and Guy Wohlford; five grandchildren; sister Nancy Spahr of Bowie, MD; 11 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford with Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Interment will full military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Church, 6758 Oxford Ave., Radford, VA 24141.
