Royal Marion Bond, 93, of Radford, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was retired chief operator at Hercules with 32 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and Past Master of Va. May Masonic Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Julia Mae Lawson Bond, parents John Lee and Susan Moore Bond, three sisters Treva Muller , Freida Dickens and Verna Ratcliffe, and a brother Audrey Bond. Survivors include his wife, Pat Queenie Lambert Bond of Radford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Marsha Bond of Donalsville, GA, Steve and Ginger Bond of Cameron, NC, and Roy Lee and Chom Bond of Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Horace Copeland of Williamsburg, Norma Cregger of Roanoke, and Bonita and Russell Johnston of Troutville; two step-daughters, Marcia Luzier of Dublin and Beverly Rowicki of Jacksonville, FL; 10 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane and Rev. Kent Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of the Va May Lodge will conduct Masonic graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, VA 24141. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm Monday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Bond family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
