Roy Daniel Martin, 82, of Snowville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 23, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Snowville Baptist Church and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Quinter and Beatrice Simpkins Martin; brother, James A. Martin; sisters, Alma Martin and Iva Long; and nephew, A. W. Martin. He is survived by his devoted sister and caregiver who took care of him for 2 years, Mary Ann Perdue of Salem; nephew and his wife, Robert Quinter and Wanda Martin of Salem; and nieces and their spouses, Joan and John Thompson of Coral Springs, Fla., Peggy and Sam Simpkins of Christiansburg; Patricia and Keith Heineman of Radford, and Regina Martin of Roanoke. The family would like to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice and special thanks to Peanut and Karen Simpkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
