Obituary

Ronnie Elson Hollins, 65, of Riner, went to be with our Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016. He was a member of West Radford Church of God and was retired from Kroger. Ronnie never met a stranger and always had a way of making you laugh. He loved his family and was so proud of them, and they deeply loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elson Pearman "Pork Chop" Hollins, Jr. and Virginia Scott Hollins Jewell, and stepfather, Gene Jewell. Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Christine Hollandsworth Hollins of Riner; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Missy Hollins of Narrows; daughter, Teresa Hollins Sykes of Christiansburg and her special friend, Donnie Thompson; grandchildren, Aaron Hollins and his wife Stephanie, and Kaitlyn and Jacob Sykes; great granddaughter, Marlie Hollins; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Barbara Hollins of Dublin; brother-in-law and his wife, David and Debbie Hollandsworth of Springfield; sister-in-law, Carol Miles of Radford; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; mother of his children, Charlotte Rhodes; and a special fury friend, Chloe. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Danny Newman, Rev. Kenneth Kingrea, and Rev. Jim Walker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 4 pm at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Slaughter Family Cemetery in Indian Valley.
