Obituary

Roger Lee Coulter, 66, of Radford, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012. He was a member of St. Judes Catholic Church and veteran having served in the U. S. Navy attached to the U. S. Marines as a medic. He was a graduate of the Ohio Valley School of Nursing and the Shadyside School of Anesthesiology in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a member of the New River Valley Amateur Radio Club KT4HV since 1996 and was a national volunteer examiner coordinator for Amateur Radio for 14 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Francis, Sr. and Margaret Thompson Coulter, and a brother, Sonny Coulter. Survivors include his wife, Linda E. Coulter; daughters, Erin Coulter and Lauren Coulter, both of Radford; grandson, Gabriel Caldwell of Radford; brother and sister-in-law, Nelson and Betty Coulter of Ohio; sister, Laura Jean Brahler of Ohio; sister-in-law, Faye Coulter of West Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral mass will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 5 pm at St. Judes Catholic Church with Father Ken Shuping officiating. Immediately following the service, VFW Post #776 will conduct military rites. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 pm until 5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the New River Valley Amateur Radio Club, PO Box 1909, Dublin, VA 24084 . The Coulter family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
