Robert Gerry Stevens, Jr., 92, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010. He was an active member of New Dublin Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. Bob retired from Harveys Chevrolet after 30 years of service. He served as a fire and rescue volunteer with the Radford Fire Department for over 20 years and was a charter member of the Radford Host Lions Club where he served the community for over 65 years. Bob was born on Back Creek Farm in Pulaski County on September 21, 1917 the son of the late Robert Gerry Stevens, Sr. and Mary Langhorne Polly Cloyd Stevens. Survivors include his wife, Emily Barbara (Bobbie) Acra Stevens of Radford; a son, Robert Gerry Stevens III and his wife Susan D. Stevens of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Rebecca Ash Stevens Shea and her husband Michael E. Shea of Southport, CT; sisters, Mary L. (Lang) Phillips and Elizabeth A. (Lib) Stevens, both of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Michael J. Shea, Allison A. Shea and Matthew G. Stevens; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Parker and Joyce Robertson of Richmond, and Betty Stevens of Christiansburg; and numerous nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3 pm at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jean Brown and Rev. Ben Trawick officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 8 pm Friday at the church.
