Robert Bob Carl Saunders, 83, of Radford, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010. He was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He retired from Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Cress Saunders and daughter Sherry Ellen Saunders Mabie. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Mary and Phil Woods of Radford; son and daughter-in-law Bob and Michelle Saunders of Radford; son-in-law John Mabie of Radford; eight grandchildren Laura Bishop and her husband Stephen, Jeff Mabie, Sarah Mabie, Josh Woods and his wife Julie, Todd Woods, Robbie Saunders, Katie Saunders and William Saunders; and three great-grandchildren Kellen and Juliana Bishop and Leah Woods. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 3 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Danielle Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
