Robert Hampton Ridpath, 82, of Radford, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 24 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served in Germany. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Lucille I. Ridpath of Radford; granddaughter Carla Ann Weikle; stepchildren and their spouses, Terry Wayne and Vickie Thomas of Wendell, NC, Jerry Wayne and Robin Thomas of Radford, Gary Lee Thomas of Roanoke, and Mary Beth and David Swortzel of Floyd; 10 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Jon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. The Ridpath family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
