Robert Franklin Pritchett, 82, of Fairlawn, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years, and retired from Bell Atlantic with 20 years of service. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Mamie Pritchett; brothers, James, Louis and Clarence; and sisters, Naomi and Marlene. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Thompson Pritchett; son, Robert Thompson Pritchett of London, England; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Pritchett and Benny Harp of Radford; grandchildren, Robert Hunter Pritchett of Los Angeles, CA, Philip Thompson Pritchett of Burlington, VT, Emily Bridges Harp of Charlotte, NC, and Molly Thompson Harp of Washington, DC; brother, Wallace Luther Pritchett of Verona; and his favorite grandpuppies, Lucy and Cabell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Collins and Rev. Norman Arrington officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 6758 Oxford Avenue, Fairlawn, VA 24141. The Pritchett family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Virginia.
