Robert Franklin Pritchett, 82, of Fairlawn, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years, and retired from Bell Atlantic with 20 years of service. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Mamie Pritchett; brothers, James, Louis and Clarence; and sisters, Naomi and Marlene. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Thompson Pritchett; son, Robert Thompson Pritchett of London, England; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Pritchett and Benny Harp of Radford; grandchildren, Robert Hunter Pritchett of Los Angeles, CA, Philip Thompson Pritchett of Burlington, VT, Emily Bridges Harp of Charlotte, NC, and Molly Thompson Harp of Washington, DC; brother, Wallace Luther Pritchett of Verona; and his favorite grandpuppies, Lucy and Cabell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Collins and Rev. Norman Arrington officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 6758 Oxford Avenue, Fairlawn, VA 24141.
