Robert Wayne Poff, (Ret. Msgt. USAF), 79, of Dublin, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016. He was a retired U. S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist church and retired from Pulaski County School Board where he was the Food Service Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euell Harvey and Virginia Pearl Rumburg Poff. Survivors include his wife, Claire Elizabeth Poff of Dublin; son. Darrell Wayne Poff of Round Rock, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia L. Poff, and Paula and Jeff Smith, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Darrell, Jr., Kristi, Joshua, Christin, Austen and Brayden; great grandson, Ty; sisters, Jean Guilliams of Roanoke, Faye King of Copper Hill, Betty Burnett of Roanoke, Coleta Fralin of Dublin and Myra Wray of Roanoke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Fairlawn Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at the church with Rev. Gregory Harrell officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Church or to your favorite charity.
