Robert Lee Miller, 87, passed away Thursday July 6, 2023, at his home in Christiansburg. Bob proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corp where he retired as Captain with 20 years of service. He retired from the town of Blacksburg as Building Official and was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Radford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Lorene Christian Miller; 3 brothers and1 sister; and his in-laws, Juanita and Ted Simpson. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Gayle Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Zsa Zsa Miller of Mooresville, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Alan Shaw of Christiansburg; four grandchildren, Zachary, Natalie, Brian and Jordan; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, with Rev. Don Shelor officiating.
