Robert Eugene Medlock, 90, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at his home in Radford. He was a member of Level Green Christian Church in Newport and a machinist retired from Western Electric. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving in WWII and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler winning several awards. He was born in Bloomington, Ind., the son of the late Dencil Paul Medlock and Sylvia Mae Gilbo Medlock. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth M. Doglione and Betty M. Branam. Survivors are his wife, Loma Lois Hillenberg Medlock of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dave Joyce of Radford; granddaughter, Kathie Joyce Smith of Roanoke; great granddaughter; Susanna Smith of Roanoke; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2015 at the Level Green Christian Church in Newport with Larken Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where members of American Legion Post #58 will conduct military graveside services. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home and also an hour before the service on Friday at the church.
