Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Howard Dunnigan, Sr. of Dublin passed away peacefully on September 15, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital in Salem surrounded by his family. Bobby was born November 17, 1945 in Pulaski, Virginia to Raymond Lee and Mary Frances Dunnigan. He was a lifelong resident of Pulaski County and graduated from Dublin High School in 1964, where he met his wife of 49 years Betty Martin Dunnigan. Bobby was the owner of Landmark Builders of Dublin for many years and built many structures throughout the New River Valley. One of his proudest building accomplishments was being able to donate the labor and a large part of the materials to Pulaski County Schools to build the Louisa P. Chrisley Fitness Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud WVU Mountaineer and Pulaski County Cougar football fan and supporter. Bobby was a member of the Dublin Ruritan for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Lee and Mary Francis Dunnigan, brother, James "Jimmy" Francis Dunnigan and very special sister, Diana Lee Turman. He is survived by his wife, Betty Martin Dunnigan of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert "Robbie" Howard Dunnigan, Jr. and his wife, Angela "Angie" Branch Dunnigan, and Randall "Randy" Lee Dunnigan and his wife, Cherish Hall Dunnigan, all of Dublin; special grandsons, Zackary Brent Dunnigan of Port Orange, Florida, Shay Bret Dunnigan and his fianc, Emilie Rebecca Church, Chase Brit Dunnigan, Chandler Graham Dunnigan, and Nicholas Cooper Dunnigan, all of Dublin; his very special and only granddaughter, Claire Lee-Anne Dunnigan of Dublin; special brother-in-law, Robert Lee Turman; and many special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Richard Patterson and Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family request you make a contribution to your local church or charity in Bobby's memory. The Dunnigan family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
