Robert Jackson Carter, 58, of Blacksburg, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Jackson Carter and Juanita Whittaker Carter. Survivors include his son, Clayton Carter of Christiansburg; daughter, Juanita Stone of Narrows; stepson, Lucas Covey; 4 grandchildren; beloved mother, Peggy Carter; brothers and sister-in-law, James Carter of Dublin and Ronnie and Carmella Carter of Floyd; sisters and brother-in-law, Christiana Carter and Hivera Green, and Rhonda Gail Carter, all of Dublin, and Susan Blankenship of Christiansburg; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
