Richard Vern Shanks, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home in Radford. He was retired from Volvo Trucks and a member of Tower of Refuge Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Hauser Shanks and Gladys Irene Books Shanks; and his brother. Survivors include the love of his life since 1997, Cherise L. Shanks of Pulaski. Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
