Richard "Dick" Elmer Dore, 86, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home in Fairlawn with his wife by his side. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Blacksburg and a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from Gardiner Hospital in Gardiner, Maine and was also the owner of Dore Way Enterprise. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Dore; and his daughter, Barbara Rowe. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Elizabeth "Betty" D. Dore of Fairlawn; daughters, Catherine Ridlen of Col. and Angela Atkins of Radford; son, Robert Masciadri of Maine; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and his canine companions, Joey and Frankie. Memorial services will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Blacksburg, Va., with Father John Asare officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Dicks name be made to Radford University Foundation, c/o Radford Athletics. Please note in memo line: "Highlander Club".
