Randall Vincent Heidt, 65, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his home in Dublin. He was an industrial electrician and a U. S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was born in North Dakota, the son of the late George and Georgia Heidt.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nancy Smith Heidt; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Trisha Heidt; daughter and her life partner, Karen Heidt and Michelle Vandergrift; granddaughters, Ava and Brooke Heidt, and Reghan and Harper Vandergrift; 9 siblings and their spouses, Roger and Diane Heidt, Ron and Sam Heidt, Ray and Henri Heidt, Russell and Ines Heidt, Richard Heidt and Kathleen Dotson-Datum, Dean and Mary Heidt, David and Cathy Heidt, Lavonne and Steve Bender and Marietta Heidt; and numerous niece, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Charles Ssebalamu and Deacon Roger Heidt officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
