Ralph Wayne Akers, 66, of Dublin, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. He worked for Volvo Trucks in the engineering department. He was an avid scuba and cave diver, hunter, spelunker and fisherman and was Vice President of the Highland Bass Club. Survivors include his wife, Patsy S. Akers; his sister, Karen Lynne Reynolds of Radford; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Rev. Lester Kennedy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
