Preston Andrew Simms, 43, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a five-year battle with congestive heart failure. His final weeks were spent in the excellent care of the RMH Palliative Care and Hospice staff and surrounded by family and friends sharing stories, laughs and love.

He is survived by his mother and her husband, Jeanne Flinchum Jones (Gary); father, Robert "Bob" Preston Simms; sister, Stacy Simms; step-sisters, Kelly Schelling and Kimberly Guinness; nieces and nephews, Lily Schelling, Jack Schelling, Bryce Guinness and Maizy Guiness; and many other relatives and special friends.

The family is honoring Preston's request to forego funeral a traditional memorial service. A celebration of his life will be held in the coming weeks for his close family and friends.
