Obituary

Opal Bishop Sutphin, age 89 of Radford passed away Friday February 13, 2009 at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roba D. Sutphin and her parents, John Wesley and Mary Keith Bishop. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Mary Lou Sutphin, Radford, Donnie and Sherry Sutphin, Dublin, four grandchildren; Mark Sutphin and John Luckado, Matthew and Stacey Sutphin, Travis Sutphin and Kathie Simmons, Adam and Heather Sutphin, four great grandchildren, Brianna Sutphin, Damien Sutphin, Ariel Sutphin and Taylor Sutphin, one sister, Frankie Moore, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Monday February 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Radford, with Dr. Paul Layne, Rev. Kent Taylor and Rev. Kit Coates officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in Radford. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Sutphin family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
