Heaven has gained an angel. Ocie Marie Bain Ratcliffe lived her almost 98 years for the Lord. She had a servants heart and would do anything she could for someone in need. She cared for many family members until their last days. She buried two husbands but through her faith continued living her life in spite of those losses. Even in the 60s when most women didnt work outside the home, she overcame all of the obstacles in her path and ran the Radford Post Office before retiring (twice) from Inland Motors. She also poured her heart and soul into Bain Chapel PH Church as a founding member and served many years as Secretary and Treasurer. She leaves behind her daughter, Dorothy, and son-in-law, Melvin Brammer. After many years of waiting she became a proud grandma to Melanie. When Melanie and Justin Butler welcomed their son, Colin, there wasnt a dry eye in the room when she held her great grandson for the first time. She also leaves behind her brother, Rev. David Bain, and sister-in-law, Helen Bain, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Waiting to welcome her into Heaven were her parents, Riner Walker and Johnnie Mae Bain. Her husbands, Ernest Cecil Talbert and Charlie Ratcliffe, along with her siblings - Walter, Agnes, Carl, Kenneth and Harless. While we are sad to say goodbye on this earth, we know this is temporary. We will see her again one day soon in Heaven. She has fought the good fight and received her reward for a job well done. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bain Chapel PH Church. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Hagee officiating. Interment will follow in the Appalachian Conference Cemetery in Dublin. The family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
