Obituary

Neta Wilson Albright, 95, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her home in Radford. Neta was born May 11, 1919 in Montgomery County the daughter of the late Lillian Nester and James Sidney Wilson. In her early years, her family lived in New York, Salem, and upon settling in Radford, she met her husband, Tom Albright, on a double date and they married January 7, 1940.She was an active member of The Presbyterian Church of Radford where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was the Women's Circle Chair and volunteered with the nursery. She was also very active in the community volunteering in the schools, Brownie Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA, Meals on Wheels, Garden Club and the Bridge Club. She was a charter member of the PEO and president of the Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers. She spent her life taking care of her family and was a skilled seamstress and craftsperson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom Albright, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Gary Grant of Radford, Barbara Faye and Phil Mantz of Burlington, NC, and Tammy Albright of Pasadena, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Thomas and Karen Albright of Salisbury, MD, Timothy and Claire Albright of Augusta, GA, and Ron S. Albright of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Fielding, Scott Albright, Konley Albright, Andrew Grant, Michael (Tara) Grant, Phillip Mantz, and Kathleen Mantz; five great-grandchildren, Heth, Jacob, Haley, Thomas and Stephanie; one great-great grandchild; and sister, Mae Wilson Legg of Plains, GA; and numerous other relatives. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and her special caregiver Cindy Webster. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. David Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. The Albright family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
