Nell Strawn Daugherty, 91, of Radford, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010. She was a member of Dublin United Methodist Church. She was born June 26, 1919, the daughter of the late James Byron and Sadie Godfrey Strawn. She was preceded in death by her husband John Tipton JT Daugherty. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald E. and Ann Daugherty of Vinton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris D. Morgan and the late George Morgan of Radford, Rebecca and Michael McLeod of Dublin, and Cynthia and Luther Galyon of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren and their spouses, Carol and Joseph Guthrie of Dublin, Amy and Robert Fleischman of Vinton, Wade and Terri Umberger of Pulaski, Holly and Kenneth Mackey of Oviedo, FL, Paul and Stephanie Daugherty of Richmond, and Sarah and Gregory Dorman of Monument, CO; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dublin United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm until 3:30 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dublin UMC, 424 E.
