Nancy David Ingles, 89 of Radford, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008. She was a faithful, longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford where she was active in church functions until her declining health would not permit. As a dedicated Christian, she strived to help others. Mrs. Ingles attended Winthrop College and graduated from Radford University with a degree in elementary education. From August 1957 through June 1981, teaching was an important part of her life. As a third grade teacher at Dublin Elementary School, she enhanced the lives of her students. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and lived her life in a quiet way with dignity and always worked hard. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. Survivors include a son, James Miller Ingles, Jr. of Radford; two daughters, Carol Ingles Booth of Fortville, Ind. and Mary Ingles Hutchens of Boone, NC; two granddaughters Stephanie Booth Walter and Ashley Hutchens; two great-granddaughters, Alicia Walter and Breanna Walter; a sister Mamie Sloman of Walterboro, SC; and a brother George David of Salters, SC. The family of Nancy Ingles wishes to send special thanks to the generous and kind staff at Fairlawn Manor for their warm care and friendship to her and all of her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Radford with Rev. David Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
