Millard Edward Hackney, 88 formerly of Spotsylvania, passed away Monday, November 12, 2007 in Fairlawn, VA. He was a former member of the Spotsylvania Church of God and a U. S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Virginia Hackney and a son Gerald Hackney. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Larry Thomas, Sr. and Kay Hackney of Fredericksburg; a daughter and son-in-law Donna F. and Phillip M. Hambrick of Fairlawn; four grandsons Tommy Hackney, Jr. and his wife Margaret, David Hackney and his wife Shannon, Chris Hackney and Mike Hambrick; four great-grandchildren Trey, Micah, Skyler and Kayla; and two sisters Beatrice H. Porter and Lorene H. Posey, both of Soddy Daisy, TN. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Spotsylvania Church of God with Pastor Donald Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Quantico National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home. The Hackney family is in the care of Laurel Hill Funeral Home and Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, VA.
